The SG 550 family is a gun manufactured by firearms maker Swiss Arms a former division of Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft. The SG 551 is a variant of the SG 550 with a shorter gas tube and different handguard. Several different versions were then spun off from the 551 over the years which brings us to the one we have today.
The 551 functions much like its shorter brother the 553 with the same firing modes (semi, 3rd burst, full auto) and touts the same ergonomics. The 551 being a longer gun has a longer sight radius and rail system on its handguard allowing the direct adaptation of accessories such as grips, lights, lasers, or different optics.
The gun is a GHK product, which means superb gas efficiency and feel. The GHK system is renown for being one of the best in terms of maximizing the gas output of their GBBRs and providing realistic shooting experiences as close as possible to the real deal.
