Ares MS700 TX Sniper Rifle
The Modular Sniper Rifle (MSR) is a modern bolt-action sniper rifle developed by the Remington Arms company for the United States military, introduced in 2009, it was devised to meet precise United States Army Precision Sniper Rifle requirements and is know in the army as the Remington Mk 21 Precision Sniper Rifle. Its appearance is well known, and you may recognise it from its appearance in lots computer games, including Socom 4 US Navy Seals, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, Massive Action Game, and lots more, its also been seen in a few films. The famous airosft You Tuber NOVRITSCH even owns one (if you go to the videos on this page he shows you how to strip one and how to upgrade one).
This airsoft version is made by ARES and is know as the MS700, it is a very high-quality spring operated sniper replica that's one of the best on the market.
Almost all of the rifle is made from metal with only pistol grip, and cheek pad is made of polymer. The Metal parts are the fluted outer barrel, forestock, folding stock, piston, HopUp chamber, trigger and trigger guard, magazine and flash hider, The rifles upper and lower receiver is made of die-cast aluminium alloy. The aluminium makes the rifle very durable but light weight and adds to its protection from rust. (More costly than ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals like aluminium are desirable because of characteristics such as low weight, and it don't corrode)
The sniper rifle has a Folding stock, thats useful for allowing it to fit in your gun bag. On the guns stock there is an adjustable rubber buttstock and cheek rest for offering vertically and horizontally movement to help you get the perfect fit for your size. the butstock pad can be adjusted by up to 17mm in length, by using the rear dial with click adjustment. The polymer cheek pad can also be adjusted by up to 14mm in height. This is also adjusted by a click-adjusting dial. when the correct setting is found, they can be fixed with a 2.5 mm screw.
The Rail, barrel and all of the front half of the gun is very solid; the barrel is free-floated inside the tubular hand guard. The handguard has many user installable Picatinny-type accessory rails. Thanks to the modular front system, the rails can be moved by the shooter as they require. On the top of receiver very long rail which can be used to install telescope sights etc. there is also a rail on the underside of the barrel that you can attach a bipod too. There is an opening in the centre of the rifle on each side of the rifle for the QD-restraint.
The rifle Measures 1100mm at full length When folded the rifle measures 890mm. The pistol grip is extremely comfortable to hold and It has a nice rubberized texture feel to it. Shooting at around 410fps the rifle has a fully metal magazine capable of holding 78 rounds.
This rifle if fitted with the new TX System, which is a pretty smart system that allows three different power types to power this sniper rifle. Basically, this allows the cocking bolt to be quickly switched for a gas or C02 Powered bolt. (but its does not come with it as standard with this product).
