Arthurian Airsoft Excalibur Safir
The airsoft rifle is part of the Arthurian Airsoft ‘Excalibur’ range of AEGs. There is something available for every player. The Excalibur AEGs are all full metal construction with numerous styles of external parts to compliment and individualise every variant. The Excalibur Safir is the first new model of 2021 for the Excalibur range of AEGs. It has a low profile design with a skeletonised M-LOK rail system and MOE style stock. The body is the same custom design found on the Offspring. The Safir is a very well built addition to the Excalibur family.
This rifle has a 10” M-LOK rail system, and you can easily fix separate rails at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions on the rail system. The top of the rail has a short 20mm rail keeping the look and design of the Excalibur Safir flush with the upper receiver.
There is the option to change between fire selector settings, and the choices are engraved with the standard ‘safe,’ ‘semi’ & ‘auto’ settings. The buffer tube is still only 1″ (25mm) long but does feature the E&C (Exchange & Chrono) spring change system, proprietary to the Excalibur series rifles.
One of the most impressive features of the stock system of the Excalibur Safir is the E&C quick change spring system. To change the spring, you simply need to unscrew the ring on the stock tube, rotate the stock tube 45 degrees and pull it off. After that unscrew the knurled screw at the back and the spring & spring guide will pop out. Be careful not to let it fly across the room, it may release with some force. Ultimately, this process only takes about 30 seconds.
2021 Model
The 2021 model Excalibur Safir now feature an inbuilt MOSFET into the trigger board and a rotary hop unit. MOSFETs help protect the trigger contacts from being burnt out when using 7.4v or 11.1v LiPo batteries, increases the efficiency of the battery allowing for more shots per charge and increase the overall performance of the gearbox with a slight increase rate of fire and snappier trigger response.
The rotary hop unit improves the stability of the hop and negates any chance of it coming loose as a result of vibrations. As a result, the hop will be more consistent and give you ore adjustment allowing for finer tuning for heavier BBs
The Gearbox
The gun is equipped with an impressive gearbox, made from the components vital to most mid-range AEGs. What makes the Excalibur series stand out, is that these guns come preinstalled with 8mm bearings, a 15 metal tooth piston, an enhanced tappet plate and the E&C spring change system.
